Board of Education Vacancy - Applications Now Being Accepted

The Peyton School District 23-JT Board of Education is accepting applications to fill a vacant board position. Qualified candidates must be registered voters residing within district boundaries and at least 18 years of age.

Key Details:

  • Application Deadline: Tuesday, January 13, 2026, by 4:00 PM

  • Public Interviews: Wednesday, January 21, 2026, at 7:00 PM in the Peyton Elementary Atrium

  • Serve Until: Next regular biennial school election

Board members are responsible for setting district policy, approving budgets, hiring and evaluating the Superintendent, and representing the community. The position requires attendance at monthly meetings (typically the 3rd Wednesday), special meetings as needed, and participation in committee work.
