Peyton High School Career Start (formerly AVP)

Career Start (formerly AVP):  Grade 11-12

Prerequisite: Junior or Senior status with the Counselor Approval. The Career Start Program delivers vocational training that provides the student with the academic and technical competencies, occupational skills, attitudes and work habits considered essential for entry-level employment. Vocational instruction is provided on the Pikes Peak Community College campus. Students attend classes Monday – Friday for approximately 2 hours and 40 minutes. Peyton High School provides transportation to morning classes but not afternoon classes. Students may earn both high school as well as college level credit, based on the quality of work. Students may attend the program for one or two years. Completion of the Career Start packet and attendance of the Career Start parent night is required.
